Quite good, I enjoyed it and I will likely buy again. The herring slices are quite large unlike most pickled herring in common supermarkets. The oil and the spicing also added a nice, mild taste.
By far, not the best I had. I grew up in Vladivostok, Russia, so I know what the real deal looks and tastes like. The herring is not as fresh as one would want--расползается в руках. The taste is--meh, so-so. Also, some of the contents leaked out of the jar, when I received the package. The three starts are for availability (during Covid couldn't go to the Russian foods store, and couldn't find anywhere else), packaging (awesome packaging, I must say), and the fact that it is in a glass jar (not plastic). Overall, if you absolutely must have herring (like I did), it will do.

When it got here it was mush, I noticed you had packed dry ice but that was all gone. I had to throw it out. All the other stuff was in good shape though.
